Where you'll catch a business open: comparing seven categories

A business is easiest to catch when three things line up: it's open on weekends, it takes clients late in the evening, and its card has an address. We compared seven directory categories on these three points

Among these seven categories, hair removal wins on two of the three points: almost all of them work weekends, and almost all list an address. Spa salons take clients later in the evening more often than anyone — half of them, against a third for the rest

Medical categories sit at the bottom of the table. One ultrasound clinic in eight is open in the evening. One rehab center in three is closed on weekends

Beauty businesses beat medical ones on timing. You can get into a salon on a weekend or in the evening. Diagnostics, less often
Planning an ultrasound or lab test? Go on a weekday, during the day. In the evening and on weekends, only a minority are open
Hair removal salons list an address almost every time. Spas and rehab centers skip it one in five times. Confirm before you go

What this means for an owner

Three fields — weekend hours, evening hours, address — take five minutes to fill in, and they decide whether a customer reaches you at all. Your hair-removal competitors filled in an address 99.7% of the time. An empty field here makes you stand out, and not in a good way

Medical categories run the other way: evening hours are listed by a minority. If you take clients after nine, that's your edge. Say so, right there in the schedule

Where the numbers come from

Open 2GIS directory, August 2026. For each category, we took active businesses that list it among their tags. A field counted as empty only when the card omitted it entirely. Evening hours meant closing at 21:00 or later on at least one day of the week
