Which dances are taught in Kazakhstan

You bring your child to a trial class, and five similar schools are already next door. The country has 1,349 dance schools. 682 schools run children's groups, 51%. Folk dances are taught at 551 schools, 41%. After that the density drops sharply: hip-hop at 26%, wedding dance at 21%, dombra at 15%, K-pop at 13%

Styles

Half of the schools work with children, and this is the widest shelf in our table. An adult has an easier time searching by a specific style: hip-hop, high heels, ballet, each with its own tenth of the market

Every fifth school choreographs a wedding dance. The service is seasonal and urgent, while the supply is narrow, so it is better to look for it in advance, not two weeks before the date

Where are folk dances taught more often?

In Shymkent two thirds of schools teach folk dances, in Pavlodar one in six, a fourfold gap. Men's manicure gives the same spread: Almaty 85%, Semey 21%

Children's groups are steadier: from 47% in Astana to 76% in Uralsk and Aktobe

When should I go to dance classes?

1,042 schools listed a schedule. After nine in the evening 42% work, and on Sunday 51% are open

For an adult who finishes work at six, late evening is the main question, and fewer than half of the schools are open then. It is worth checking the schedule before you choose a studio by style

The average rating is 4.80 across 1,178 rated schools, and the directory average is 4.57

The open 2GIS directory, August 2026. We counted 1,349 active dance schools in Kazakhstan, 1,042 have a schedule listed, and 1,178 have a rating. Styles were taken from listed services, with shares out of all 1,349 listings. A school usually teaches several styles at once, so the shares add up to more than a hundred.
