Sunday stopped being a closed day a long time ago. We looked at the schedules of 48,637 active businesses in Kazakhstan, and only one in three has a day off. Two thirds of salons, clinics, and masters work all seven days a week

How many days a week are salons open?

87% of businesses are open on Saturday. 70% on Sunday. If Sunday suits you, seven businesses out of ten are open

What hours do salons open and close?

The median across the country runs from 09:00 to 20:00, eleven hours a day

2,213 businesses work around the clock, 4.6%. Most of these are bathhouses, saunas, and urgent-care clinics

What this means for you

1. Don't rule out a Sunday visit — seven businesses out of ten are open
2. The directory doesn't show how booked a given day is — ask the business directly
3. If a business works five days, confirm the schedule ahead of time. These make up 13%, and they're the ones most often closed on the day you planned to go

What this means for an owner

Two thirds of businesses are open seven days a week. That means a message from a customer arrives on Sunday evening, and at nine on Monday morning, right when the master is already with someone. Nobody is free to answer, and a customer who gets no reply within an hour moves to the next name on the list
