A person with a red eye finishes work at six, and that is exactly the hour when the most ophthalmology clinics close. 690 clinics in Kazakhstan gave a readable schedule, and we analyzed one thing in it: the closing hour and Sunday work

Between 17:00 and 20:00, 586 of 690 clinics close, which is 85%. Later than 21:00, 88 clinics are open, 12.8%
The morning is the opposite, early: 496 clinics open before 09:00, 71.9%
Add it up and you get a clinic that is open from eight to six. The person is at work at the same time
311 clinics work on Sunday, 45.1%. All seven days, 307, 44.5%. The difference is four listings: a clinic that opens on Sunday almost always works on Saturday too

Take a clinic that closes at 18:00 and is closed on Sunday. Its window for taking requests is about 10 hours on weekdays, 50 hours a week. For the other 118 hours of the week the phone is silent
A person with a red eye decides to book in the evening or on a day off, when they have a minute. They write on WhatsApp, because there is nowhere to call. The request waits until morning
Then there are two outcomes. Either the person waits and comes in, or in those hours they write to a second clinic. The second clinic, one of the 45% that work on Sunday, replies first, and the appointment goes there
Changing the closing hour is expensive: it is a doctor's salary and rent. Changing the hour of REPLY to a request is cheap: you can reply after closing
The minimum step: look at how many requests arrive after your closing hour and on Sunday. If it is more than a tenth, the administrator's schedule is losing you appointments. The doctor does not have to work at those hours
This gap is closed in different ways: an administrator on evening duty, the owner replying from a phone, ooon.ai on incoming messages. It is worth starting with a measurement: without it any method is chosen blindly
